Rainhill United JFC

Date Added 02/11/2017

A few weeks ago we announced that Vinny Cassidy chaired his last meeting as Club Chairman and we expressed our sincere thanks for all he has done for the club over the years.

Today, we can announce that following the AGM on the 17th July, the new Rainhill United JFC Chairman is Gareth Clarke.

Gareth moves into this new role, having been in the Committee and primarily focused as Club Treasurer since early 2013.  He joined the club in 2008 and subsequently managed the U8 Celtic team from the 2010/11 to 2014/15 season.  Gareth will continue in the role of Interim Treasurer until a successor is found in the near future.

In recent years Gareth has taken on the roles of Academy Manager, liaison with Rainhill High School, Girls Academy Coach and U9 Girls team manager.  This has been done during a period where we have seen significant growth as a club and the coming of prominence of our girls teams.  The club will have 28 boys and girls teams in the 2017/18 with 400+ training each week, we are now one of the biggest clubs locally.

Gareth (originally from Derry in Northern Ireland), moved to the North-west in 2000 and comes with a Finance & IT career background.  Having worked for the global computer company IBM since 1997, Gareth sees a lot of our more recent club improvements being in the process and technology area. This makes the experience of engagement with Rainhill United JFC that much easier for our volunteers, our players & their parents and those of future players.  As a club we need to adapt to ever changing socials needs and trends.

Some of our future initiatives that the club would like to put in place in the immediate term include:

The introduction of an Online Club Shop where managers, parents, family and friends can purchase Rainhill United JFC kit & merchandise easily and hassle free.

We want to strengthen and develop our relationships with other organisations / clubs. This will allow us to exchange best ways of working knowledge from each other and also allow those associated with Rainhill United JFC to be part of various events and initiatives that they would not normally experience.

A players forum will be established early in the 2017/18 season, a way for the voice of the club .... our players of all ages ..... to be heard.  This will help us understand what is working / not working and what the future of our club would like to see.

Gareth is excited about the future of Rainhill United JFC and by using the talents, networks, enthusiasm of all our managers, coaches, parents and players, we look forward to taking on many more exciting opportunities and developments for "Our Club".

If you are interested in being part of this exciting adventure or can offer some time, support, guidance, help or advice - then please feel free to email Gareth at any time on chair@rainhillunited.com

Looking forward to the next exciting chapter of Rainhill United as we move into our 5th decade of existence & enjoy your summer.
