Meet Our Club Officials
Our dedicated officials bring passion and experience to Rainhill United JFC, guiding our youth players and fostering community spirit through sportsmanship and leadership.

Dave Sargent – Chairman
When talking to me, people may notice I’m not from round these parts! I’m probably better known in Rainhill as Pompey Dave.
I have lived my life as a complete football fanatic, following Portsmouth across the country as well as doing what I can to help Rainhill United. It is a huge honour being elected as Chair, I will work hard to carry on the great work of my predecessors.
If you see me out and about please introduce yourself – I am hopeless with faces!!!

Mike Travies – Club Secretary
I’m Mike I have the role of Club Secretary, it’s down to me to make sure we are compliant with all the requirements from both the FA and the Warrington league.
I have coached at the club for the past 8 years and held a committee role for 6, the last as Secretary.
I also played for the club from the age of 8 to 16, so it’s great to give something back.

Gill Healey – Club Welfare Officer
My background was working in social housing health and social care and before retiring I was the managing director of housing with Torus, a Merseyside based Housing Association with over 40,000 homes. I have over 37 years’ senior experience in all aspects of housing management with a specialism in supported housing. In my role at Torus I was the corporate lead for safeguarding, diversity and inclusion and I sat as a corporate parent for the borough supporting our approach to looked after children. I am passionate about the impact that good quality housing has on health and the importance of children getting the right start in life.
Retiring 3 years ago I joined the club with the intention of coaching young girls to play football, an opportunity I never had as a kid but it became apparent that I could use my skills and experience in a different way by helping to improve how we maintain a safe and inclusive environment that allows all our young people to thrive, grow and develop and most importantly enjoy their football.

Dave Gregory – Treasurer
I joined the club’s committee in January 2022 and have helped to reorganise the clubs finances with the implementation of new payment platforms. I am a Chartered Accountant with a background in various finance roles and over 20 years experience. I currently work for EMR as a Finance Manager.
I’ve always been passionate about football and am very proud to be involved in running a junior football club. There are always many challenges but the rewards of being able to facilitate football for around 400 children make it all worthwhile. As we fast approach the club’s 50th anniversary I’m very excited about the growth and development plans we have in place.

Dave Stewart – Club Development Officer
I’ve been part of the club since 2017 and currently serve as the assistant coach. I have one son playing in the team and a younger child just beginning his football journey. Alongside coaching, I’m also responsible for club development—recently focusing on improving our facilities at Albert Fellowes Park to help the club grow and provide the best possible environment for our players, families, and community.

Steve Bennett – Head of Girls Football
I stepped up as manager of the then u11 girls team at the club three years ago. During that time I’ve seen them develop from young girls to young women and also seen them develop together as a team. I’ve watched them fall in love with the game I fell in love with at their age too.
Now I’m also Head of Girls football at the club and I’m passionate about giving girls the same opportunities to play as the boys have always had.

Kelley Black – Assistant Club Welfare Officer
I am looking forward to assisting Gill and the other committee members and club officials to promote and maintain the high standards of welfare at Rainhill United. I have been a parent at Rainhill United for 8 years. I joined when my oldest son started playing in 2017. My youngest son currently plays at Rainhill and has done since 2023. I am now keen to make a contribution to the club as my children have very special memories from their time here. I have enjoyed watching them both grow and develop within the club. I have also loved the community feel at the club and meeting parents on the side lines.
My background involves working with young people – I have a child centred approach and am committed to treating all children as individuals. I feel it is a good opportunity to join the team and use the skills I have learnt at the club. I look forward to assisting with maintaining a safe, inclusive and respectful environment within our football club.

Rachel Rennison – Community Liaison
I joined Rainhill United Junior Football Club as a volunteer club official in May 2025. My role is that of Community Link and Fundraising Lead to support the club to continue to develop and provide opportunities to all young people within our community. I have over 25 years experience delivering support to, and developing relationships and business with, large organisations across both the private and public sector.
I am Rainhill born and bred, attending St Ann’s primary school and Rainhill High, as have my children. My son joined RUJFC academy at the age of 4 and continues to enjoy playing with our Blazers team today.

Chris McNamara – Coach Mentor
I am joining as coach mentor having been a coach for over 9 years with Rainhill United. Having coached the same team for those 9 years I have a passionate belief in encouraging enjoyment of football firstly and doing as much as possible to develop individuals, whatever their ability. I believe that the core to coaching is establishing discipline, building good communication with players and parents, but keeping it fun being the main aim and pushing players to play to the best of their abilities.
I am a level 1 coach, having also had experience of scouting for a premier league club. I have 3 teenage children, 1 of which plays for Rainhill United.

Ryan Munnary – Communications Officer
I am an avid football supporter and support Spurs
The reason I became a coach was that I was asked to help out when the lads were Under 9’s. Since then, I have just completed my 5th season as manager, I wouldn’t change it for the world. I use to be a Club 18 to 30 rep in my early 20’s and I think that was easier than dealing with 16 kids at training!!!

Neil Rynn – Chair of Rainhill United’s 50th Celebration Committee
I am the Chair of Rainhill United’s 50th Celebration Committee.
With over 12 years of service as Team Manager and Club Chair, I’m proud to continue supporting the club as we mark this milestone. Having stepped down as Chair earlier this year, I’m excited to help deliver the best birthday party Rainhill United has ever seen. More details coming soon!

Victoria Sargent – Social Media
Seven years ago, I made the move from Surrey to Rainhill, and I’ve never looked back. As a passionate football supporter, I’m eager to lend my support and get involved with Rainhill United Junior Football Club. From watching a number of RUJFC games over the years, attending annual competitions and presentations. When the opportunity arose to become involved in the Social Media for RUJFC, I jumped at the chance.
